Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly declined the opportunity to manage Denmark as he is engaged in negotiations with a prominent club. The former Manchester United boss has turned down further discussions with the Danish Football Association.

Since his dismissal from Manchester United in November 2021, the 51-year-old has rejected multiple job offers, including two from clubs in the Saudi Pro League. He was also rumored to be a candidate for MLS club Charlotte FC and newly-promoted Leicester City, who were interested in hiring him ahead of their Premier League return.

Despite these interests, Solskjaer remains without a club. Danish magazine Tipsbladet reports that he has opted not to pursue the Denmark managerial role. After Kasper Hjulmand stepped down following Denmark’s disappointing Euro 2024 campaign in July, the DBU has been seeking a permanent replacement. They approached Solskjaer, but he chose not to engage in an interview with Peter Møller and the DBU, prioritizing his ongoing negotiations with a major club.

In a recent appearance at the Oslo Business Forum, Solskjaer discussed the prospect of returning to Manchester United, expressing his enthusiasm for coaching again. “If your family asks you, you say yes every day of the week,” he stated, emphasizing his desire to feel the pressure of management again. He mentioned that after managing Manchester United for three years, he is looking for a new challenge where he can truly express himself.
