Premier League star at risk of being BANNED FOR LIFE following investigation

A Premier League player is facing the possibility of a lifetime ban as new information regarding his case has emerged. West Ham midfielder Lucas Paquetá is currently undergoing an extensive investigation by the FA due to allegations of breaching rules E5 and F3.
The investigation centers on questionable betting activity linked to four yellow cards Paquetá received during Premier League matches against Bournemouth, Aston Villa, Leeds, and Leicester City. He is accused of intentionally getting booked, and it has come to light that an unusually high number of bets were placed on yellow cards in Brazil, his home country. Approximately 60 bets, ranging from £7 to £400, were made, totaling £100,000 in winnings. Paquetá, who has previously played for Lyon and AC Milan, has denied any wrongdoing and has cooperated with the FA by providing his mobile phone for their investigation.
The FA held his phone for about eight weeks to analyze his call and message history, as well as his bank statements. After getting the phone back, Paquetá reportedly upgraded to a new device and disposed of the old one, complicating the investigation further. According to The Sun, his failure to produce the old phone when requested has resulted in additional charges for obstructing the investigation, leading to two aggravated breaches of FA Rule F3.
Despite the ongoing inquiry, Paquetá has continued to play for West Ham, even scoring in a recent 4-1 win against Ipswich Town. His hearing is set for March, with a resolution not anticipated until the summer.
While Paquetá is likely to be available for the remainder of the 2024/25 season, the FA considers the alleged offenses serious and is reportedly advocating for a lifetime ban.
