Key Liverpool player Alexis Mac Allister will participate in international matches despite experiencing “slight discomfort” from an injury sustained against Crystal Palace.

Following Liverpool’s 1-0 victory, manager Arne Slot revealed that the Argentine midfielder was substituted at halftime due to a groin issue he developed in the first half. Dominik Szoboszlai took his place, raising concerns among fans about the World Cup winner ahead of the international break.

However, Mac Allister reassured supporters after the match, stating on social media that he felt only “a little discomfort” and anticipates joining the Argentina squad next week.

As part of their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, the Copa America champions will compete against Venezuela and Bolivia, aiming to maintain their top position in the rankings.

On Instagram, Mac Allister expressed, “Great win for the team today; these are the moments that make us stronger.” He also noted, “During the game, I had a little discomfort, but it didn’t stop me. I’m completely focused on the future.”

Both Argentina and Liverpool are relieved by Mac Allister’s update. While the midfielder will likely be assessed upon joining the national team, he appears confident that his issue isn’t serious.

Given his importance to both club and country, the former Brighton player has participated in every Liverpool match this season and played in both of Argentina’s games in September.

If he remains healthy during the international break, Mac Allister is expected to play a crucial role, and Liverpool will keep a close watch on his condition.
