Liverpool Eyeing Swap Deal as Real Madrid Targets Trent Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool is facing a significant challenge from Real Madrid as the Spanish club increases its pursuit of Trent Alexander-Arnold. With vice-captain Dani Carvajal out due to a long-term ACL injury, Real Madrid has turned its attention to the Liverpool full-back, whose contract expires in 2025 and remains unsigned.

According to MARCA, Real Madrid intends to make a formal approach for Alexander-Arnold in January, potentially allowing them to secure him on a free transfer next summer. However, TDF reports that the Spanish club may expedite their efforts by offering €25 million for the 26-year-old during the winter transfer window.

Liverpool is keen to avoid losing their star defender without maximizing the opportunity and is reportedly considering a potential swap deal. The Merseyside club has expressed interest in acquiring either Rodrygo or Aurelien Tchouameni. While Real Madrid has labeled Rodrygo as untouchable, they may be open to negotiations regarding Tchouameni, who is valued at £66.6 million.

This isn’t the first instance of Tchouameni being linked to Liverpool. The French midfielder was a target for the Reds prior to his transfer to Real Madrid, and rumors about a possible move to the Premier League have continued.

Although losing Alexander-Arnold would be a setback for Liverpool, securing Tchouameni in return could mitigate the impact. Nonetheless, the primary focus for the Reds remains on persuading the 25-year-old to stay and sign a new contract. How this situation unfolds could significantly influence both clubs’ transfer strategies in the coming months.
