Substantial details related to the transfer of Aurelien Tchouameni to Liverpool has been made available.
Despite reaching an agreement with Real Sociedad to acquire Martin Zubimendi last summer, the transfer did not materialize as the player opted to stay at his childhood club.
While Liverpool is expected to revisit the possibility in the January transfer window, with Manchester City also looking to replace Rodri, Zubimendi’s decision to join Liverpool remains uncertain.
As a result, manager Arne Slot has been forced to consider alternative options, with one of his primary targets being Aurelien Tchouameni, the midfielder from Real Madrid and France. Although Tchouameni has started all seven of Real Madrid’s opening La Liga matches, his performances have not quite met expectations since his transfer from Monaco in 2022. As a result, Carlo Ancelotti is open to selling the 24-year-old if a suitable offer arises.
According to reports from Fichajes, Liverpool is the leading club interested and is willing to make a bid of £66 million (€80 million) for Tchouameni.
While Ryan Gravenberch is having a standout season in Slot’s midfield, the Liverpool manager recognizes that an additional high-profile signing will be crucial for ensuring a seamless transition from the Jurgen Klopp era.
Tchouameni, although yet to reach his full potential at Real Madrid, is still only 24 and has significant room for development. Liverpool has a strong history of elevating good players to greatness, making Tchouameni an appealing prospect.
