Real Madrid Eyeing Manchester United’s player as Backup Option for Trent Alexander-Arnold

Real Madrid’s interest in Liverpool’s right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has been extensively reported, but now, according to Fichajes, the Spanish club is also considering Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot as a backup option. With Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez approaching the twilight of their careers, Real Madrid is actively pursuing reinforcements for the right-back role, with Dalot emerging as a viable candidate.

While Alexander-Arnold is still their main target, Dalot’s strong performances and adaptability have caught the attention of the reigning La Liga champions. The Portuguese defender, who joined Manchester United from Porto in 2018, has developed into a reliable player under Erik ten Hag, with a crucial loan spell at AC Milan helping him establish himself at Old Trafford.

At 25, Dalot is regarded as a well-rounded full-back who can contribute both defensively and offensively. His relatively low salary, around £100,000 per week, makes him an appealing choice for Real Madrid, who aim to enhance their squad without upsetting their wage structure. However, acquiring him will not be straightforward, as Manchester United is unlikely to let go of one of their most dependable defenders easily.

The situation is dynamic, with Real Madrid closely tracking Alexander-Arnold’s contract situation at Liverpool. If pursuing the Englishman becomes impractical, the focus could shift to Dalot as the club aims to strengthen their defense for the upcoming season.
