Manchester United supporters raised concerns about a particular player following the 1-1 Europa League draw with FC Twente.

Christian Eriksen scored to give United a lead at Old Trafford, but Sam Lammers equalized in the second half. Manager Erik ten Hag faced backlash from fans regarding his substitutions, with many questioning their timing. Additionally, his tactics after United took the lead were scrutinized, with Eriksen noting it was “not right” that Twente “looked like they wanted it more.”

While Eriksen continued to show strong form and Marcus Rashford had flashes of brilliance, the focus shifted to midfielder Manuel Ugarte, who made his second start for United since transferring from PSG.

Fans expressed their worries about Ugarte’s performance at Old Trafford. One supporter stated, “Thought people were too harsh on Ugarte but bro is not good.” Another raised concerns about his decision-making: “Why is Ugarte shooting? He never scored a goal in his career, you’re just wasting possession.” Others unfavorably compared him to potential alternatives like Amadou Onana and McTominay.

Conversely, some fans commended Ugarte for his defensive capabilities. One wrote, “Ugarte has been excellent defensively but has lost the ball too often, which is a bit concerning. However, he’s also won it the most, so I’m not too worried.” Another added, “Ugarte defensively is good, but his passing is awful.”
