Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has expressed his dissatisfaction after the team’s 1-1 draw against FC Twente in their first Europa League group-stage match. Following the game, Ferdinand voiced his frustration with United’s key player, Bruno Fernandes, and manager Erik ten Hag’s tactical choices.

🚨 “BRUNO FERNANDES, WE NEED TO TALK…” ⚠️ Ferdinand remarked during his post-match analysis. “It’s perplexing that Bruno wasn’t substituted, especially since Eriksen appeared genuinely surprised when his name was called. If we’ve signed Mount, why isn’t Ten Hag considering him as a possible substitute for Bruno when he’s underperforming?”

Ferdinand was candid about Fernandes’ recent displays. “Bruno needs to stop treating the ball like it’s a bomb—he’s sending it away without even looking! This approach just doesn’t fit our possession-oriented style. I’m not suggesting he should be sold or benched permanently, but sitting out a game or two might help him regain his focus.”

He also critiqued Ten Hag’s choices during the match: “Ten Hag needs to reconsider his substitutions. Why not take Bruno off instead of Zirkzee when the game requires a different approach? It’s essential to improve decision-making going forward. Let’s hope to see that soon!”

Fans at Old Trafford were left wanting more after a disappointing performance, and Ferdinand’s remarks underscored some of the frustrations felt by the supporters.
