Lindelof’s Future at Manchester United in Doubt

on

Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford, as his playing time has drastically decreased under manager Erik ten Hag.

The Swedish international is currently behind Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane in the lineup, fueling speculation about a potential move away from the club. Although he has a year remaining on his contract, Lindelof’s prospects for regular first-team action seem limited.

Former United player Wes Brown believes Lindelof might consider leaving at the season’s end if he remains sidelined. Brown pointed out that Lindelof’s dissatisfaction with his lack of minutes could push him to seek new opportunities.

The arrival of new signing Leny Yoro, once he recovers from injury, could complicate Lindelof’s situation further. With competition for spots increasing, it’s unclear if Lindelof can secure a consistent role in ten Hag’s plans.

Should Lindelof choose to depart, it would conclude his six-year tenure at the club. He joined United from Benfica in 2017 and has made over 200 appearances for the team.
