In the midst of these challenges, Ten Hag has pinpointed Marcus Rashford as a vital player for the season. Following Rashford’s two goals in the Carabao Cup win against Barnsley, Ten Hag emphasized Rashford’s potential to be a decisive influence for the team.

“The goals not only have to come from Marcus Rashford,” Ten Hag stated, “but having a player who is a guarantee for goals can make the difference.” Rashford, who scored 30 goals in Ten Hag’s first season, is now working to regain that form after a long scoring drought.

In addition to Rashford, players like Bruno Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo, Lisandro Martinez, and Rasmus Hojlund are also expected to play key roles. United’s goalkeeper, Andre Onana, praised Rashford’s return to form, expressing his relief that the England international is back on the scoresheet after a difficult previous season.
