Angel Gomes dreams of ‘ambitious’ Man United return, clubs can negotiate with him in January

Angel Gomes has conveyed a strong aspiration to return to Manchester United, considering it a major long-term objective. The Manchester Evening News reports that Gomes, currently with Lille, left United in 2020 after developing through their youth system.
At 24 years old, Gomes is contracted with Lille until June 2025. FIFA regulations allow Manchester United to start negotiations with him as soon as January 2025, creating a chance for a return if both sides are interested.
The Manchester Evening News also highlights that Manchester United will be actively pursuing a central midfielder during the winter transfer window. This necessity arises from the anticipated departure of Christian Eriksen, who will become a free agent next summer, and concerns about Casemiro’s declining influence at the club.
Given Gomes’ strong interest in rejoining United and the club’s need for midfield reinforcements, there could be a convergence of interests. The situation may develop as United seeks to bolster their midfield and Gomes aims to fulfill his goal of returning to his former team.
