Manchester United is currently considering an Olympic champion to strengthen their defense.

Earlier this summer, Manchester United competed with Real Madrid to secure the services of “generational talent” Leny Yoro.

Previously playing for LOSC Lille in Ligue 1, Yoro was an essential player for the French side. However, Lille chose to let him go as he entered the final year of his contract, with interest from major clubs. They eventually agreed on a transfer valued at €62 million.

While Yoro favored a move to Madrid, United successfully signed the French defender in a major transfer deal.

Now, the Red Devils face a new challenge from Madrid.

According to Spanish magazine AS, both top European clubs recently sent scouts to watch Sevilla’s Juanlu Sánchez during the Olympic Games in Paris, where he won a gold medal.

The right-back, who has featured in 43 LaLiga matches, scored twice and provided three assists. Sevilla is eager to keep the 21-year-old, who is under contract until 2026.

He has a €20 million release clause, and although Bournemouth submitted a €10 million bid this summer, it was rejected.
