According to Mundo Deportivo, Hansi Flick is set to maximize Gavi’s abilities at Barcelona starting next season. The German coach sees Gavi as a key figure in his tactical plans, intending to place him in a central midfield role as one of the two central pivots, rather than on the wings.

Gavi has indicated a preference for a central role and believes he can thrive as one of the central pivots. He feels this position will enable him to be crucial in retaining possession and generating scoring chances for the team. If Gavi assumes this role, he is likely to be paired with either Frenkie de Jong or a new midfield recruit, which could lead to Pedri being positioned further forward in Flick’s 4-2-3-1 formation. Gavi’s previous season, 2023/24, was difficult as he made only 15 appearances before a serious injury cut his season short.
