According to talkSPORT, Arsenal will contribute only 30 percent, or £97,500, of Raheem Sterling’s weekly salary of £325,000 during his season-long loan from Chelsea. This is notably less than the initial expectations of covering half or £100,000 per week. Chelsea will cover the majority of Sterling’s salary, with £12 million of his £17 million annual wage bill, while Arsenal’s financial commitment is limited to £5 million. Arsenal will also not have to pay any loan fees.

This arrangement is financially advantageous for Arsenal. If Sterling performs well, it could be a strategic success for Arsenal’s sporting director, Edu.

Sterling, 29, might make his debut for Arsenal in the upcoming North London Derby against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. His versatility could be crucial, especially with the injury to captain Martin Ødegaard, who twisted his ankle during a match against Austria and has been seen using crutches. Ødegaard is expected to miss the clash with Spurs.

With Ødegaard sidelined, manager Mikel Arteta may need to select a forward to fill the attacking midfield role. While 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri might be considered, Arteta might prefer using Kai Havertz, who has been playing as a makeshift striker. Sterling’s adaptability could allow him to step into this role, adding flexibility to Arsenal’s attack as they aim for victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
