Sir Jim Ratcliffe Eyes Zinedine Zidane as Next Manchester United Manager Amid Ten Hag Uncertainty

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly keen on Zinedine Zidane becoming the next Manchester United manager, according to Spanish sources. Zidane is viewed as a potential successor to Erik ten Hag if the Dutchman’s performance continues to falter this season.

Manchester United’s challenging start, with them currently sitting 14th in the Premier League and earning only four points from their first three games, has intensified scrutiny on Ten Hag’s position. Both fans and the management are growing increasingly impatient after several seasons of underachievement.

Speculation about possible replacements is circulating, with Ratcliffe reportedly favoring Zidane. However, persuading the French legend, who has expressed interest in managing the French national team, to take on the role at Old Trafford might be difficult. Zidane, known for his winning mentality, would face challenges adapting to English football and the language, which could complicate negotiations.

Despite being out of coaching since 2021, Zidane remains a highly sought-after figure. Manchester United had considered him last season but decided to stick with Ten Hag. Other potential candidates being mentioned include Thomas Tuchel and Gareth Southgate, should the club choose to make a change.

Recently, Zidane sparked speculation about a coaching return when he was seen at a Real Betis training session where his son, Elyaz, was present.
