Ronaldo insists Ten Hag can’t win Premier League: ‘You can’t rebuild a club you don’t understand’

Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his doubts about Manchester United’s ability to compete for the Premier League and Champions League titles under current manager Erik ten Hag. Ronaldo emphasized that a club of Manchester United’s stature should always aim to win major trophies, regardless of perceived limitations. He stated that even if the potential is lacking, the mentality should be to try and compete.

Ronaldo further criticized Ten Hag, implying that the manager might be out of his depth and should seek advice from former United players such as Ruud van Nistelrooy, Rio Ferdinand, Roy Keane, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, or even Sir Alex Ferguson. Ronaldo believes that the club can only be rebuilt by those who have a deep understanding of its history and values.

This critique comes after Ronaldo’s controversial departure from Manchester United in 2022 following a fallout with Ten Hag. His comments suggest that he feels the current management may be missing an opportunity to leverage the experience of former players in guiding the club back to its former glory.
