Real Madrid Prepare ‘Succession Plan’ with Two Clear Ancelotti Replacements Identified Amid Manchester United and Barcelona Interest

Real Madrid is reportedly preparing for life after Carlo Ancelotti, laying out a clear succession plan as the 65-year-old Italian manager approaches the latter stages of his career. Ancelotti has enjoyed significant success during his second stint at the club, securing major titles such as two La Liga championships and another Champions League trophy. However, with a mixed start to the 2023/24 season, including two wins and two draws, the club is reportedly considering its long-term leadership options.

Two prominent names are being touted as potential successors: Zinedine Zidane and Xabi Alonso. Both have deep ties to Real Madrid, with Zidane having already managed the club to great success in the past, while Alonso has been gaining valuable managerial experience elsewhere. Zidane, who has recently rejected a potential move to Manchester United due to concerns about his fluency in English, remains a top candidate for the Madrid job when Ancelotti steps down.

While Ancelotti remains committed to the current campaign and has stated that he has no immediate plans to retire, Real Madrid’s board appears to be planning for a smooth managerial transition, with Zidane and Alonso emerging as clear front-runners to guide the club in the future.
