Real Madrid battling Bayern Munich for ‘best young English player since Jude Bellingham’ amid Man Utd interest

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are reportedly competing to sign Chris Rigg, a highly promising young talent often compared to Jude Bellingham.

Bellingham, who progressed through Birmingham City’s academy and moved to Borussia Dortmund before joining Real Madrid, is now one of the world’s top midfielders. Manchester United showed interest in Bellingham before his Dortmund move, with then-manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer even involving club legends to persuade him. However, that move did not materialize, and United may now miss out on Rigg, who is being hailed as a potential successor to Bellingham.

Chris Rigg, a 17-year-old midfielder from Sunderland, has drawn attention with his impressive performances. He made his senior debut at just 15 and has started three of Sunderland’s four league matches this season. Despite interest from Manchester United, Rigg chose to stay at Sunderland and signed a scholarship contract. Under Tony Mowbray’s management, Rigg has made notable strides, establishing himself as a regular in the squad.
