The fierce rivalry between Real Madrid and Manchester City has intensified both on and off the pitch, with City emerging as a significant European competitor to Madrid in recent years.

Currently, Manchester City is looking to strengthen its squad to maintain its dominance in England, leading to a clash with Real Madrid over Canadian star Alphonso Davies, whose contract expires on June 30. According to *koolmedia*, City is making an aggressive push for Davies, with a reported offer of around 15 million euros net, while Real Madrid is offering only 9 million euros.

This large financial disparity means that if Davies prefers to join Madrid, he would need to forgo a substantial amount of money. Real Madrid has a track record of persuading players to join despite higher offers from other clubs, though there have been cases where players chose financial incentives over sporting ambition.

Madrid remains hopeful but the situation remains uncertain until a contract is finalized. The plan is for Davies to officially join Real Madrid in January and start with the club in the summer of 2025, similar to Kylian Mbappé’s arrangement this year.

Manchester City is less optimistic, sensing that Davies might prefer Real Madrid’s ambitious project. City recognizes the importance of continually enhancing their squad to keep pace with Madrid over the coming decade, and they are making every effort to outbid Madrid for one of the top talents in his position.
