🚨I would not be surprisedā€ – Fabrizio Romano drops important Liverpool transfer update

Liverpool are already strategizing for the upcoming transfer window after a relatively quiet summer, where they made only two signings: goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia and attacker Federico Chiesa from Juventus, the latter spending the season on loan elsewhere. Despite starting the season with three consecutive wins, the Reds are keen to bolster their squad, particularly in midfield.

One of their key targets remains Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, whom Liverpool pursued during the summer window. The Spaniard turned down the Premier League club’s advances to stay at his boyhood club, but transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has hinted that Liverpool could reignite their interest in the Euro 2024 winner.

Romano mentioned in an interview with *Anything Liverpool*: ā€œI would not be surprised if Liverpool try again in the future for Zubimendi.ā€ This comes as manager Arne Slot seeks a new No.6, with current midfielder Wataru Endo not yet fully convincing the Dutchman. While Ryan Gravenberch has shown promising performances since joining from Bayern Munich, Slot is still assessing his midfield options.

With Real Sociedad struggling in La Liga, having only won one out of their first four matches, Liverpool could find an opportunity to lure Zubimendi away in January. The Reds, who have the financial flexibility after not spending heavily like their Premier League rivals, are likely to make another move for the talented midfielder in their bid to challenge for the league title.
