Liverpool already have their own Martin Zubimendi and it could save the club millions

Liverpool fans believe they’ve discovered an ideal replacement for Martin Zubimendi already within their squad: Tyler Morton.
Earlier in the transfer window, a move for Zubimendi to Liverpool seemed imminent, but the deal fell through when the Spaniard decided to stay with his longtime club, Real Sociedad.
Many supporters thought Zubimendi would have seamlessly fit into Liverpool’s style under new manager Arne Slot and were concerned when there were rumors that the club might not pursue another player for that position this summer.
Fans have now taken to social media, expressing their belief that Morton could be the perfect alternative. Morton made a strong impression during his loan at Hull City last season, scoring three goals and providing five assists while helping the team nearly reach the play-offs.
Despite interest from several Champions League clubs, including Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool opted to keep Morton, which has sparked excitement among the fanbase.
One fan commented on footage from last season: “If we don’t bring in anyone new, I say we give Tyler Morton a chance this season. What do you think?”
Another fan shared their contentment with Morton staying: “I’m thrilled he’s remaining with us.”
A different supporter suggested that Morton might be a stronger option than some current midfielders: “Tyler Morton is a solid backup and probably better on the ball than Endo. His defending needs improvement, but let’s trust the coach.”
Another fan agreed, proposing Morton for a starting role: “I’m open to the idea of Tyler Morton getting a chance in the first team this season.”
However, one fan indicated a need to see more of Morton before being convinced of his readiness, saying: “If Tyler Morton is staying, I want him included in the matchday squads and getting 20-30 minutes per game. I want to assess his quality.”
During the international break, Morton will join his teammates Jarell Quansah and Harvey Elliott in the England U21 squad for their upcoming matches against Northern Ireland and Austria.
