Pipe Sierra, the journalist who initially reported on the Colombian’s transfer to Anfield in 2022, shared an update on X (formerly Twitter) yesterday. This comes amid reported interest from European competitors, including Luis Enrique’s PSG.

The 27-year-old’s current contract with Liverpool runs until the summer of 2027. Given that his deal does not expire for another three years, it is expected that he may not be the highest priority for contract negotiations at the moment.

Liverpool’s focus is likely to be on renewing the contracts of key players like Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Mohamed Salah, whose deals are set to expire in 2025. However, securing a new deal for the 13-goal winger would help safeguard his value and ensure his continued satisfaction at the club, where he has recently regained form.

PSG is among the interested parties, potentially looking to make a move ahead of Kylian Mbappe’s anticipated departure. Additionally, Diaz’s father, Luis Manuel Diaz Jimenez, has publicly expressed a desire to play in Spain, with Barcelona often mentioned as a potential destination. However, Barcelona’s ongoing financial difficulties could hinder their ability to pursue such a deal.
