Liverpool are reportedly making a move to strengthen their midfield by targeting French midfielder Adrien Rabiot, outmaneuvering Manchester United in the process. Rabiot, who recently became a free agent after leaving Juventus, is seen as a prime candidate for Liverpool’s first summer signing under new manager Arne Slot.

With Manchester United also showing interest in Rabiot, Liverpool is keen to secure the player without the need for a transfer fee. The club’s midfield has been weakened following the retirement of Thiago Alcântara, and Rabiot’s experience and versatility could provide the boost Liverpool needs.

Rabiot, known for his creativity and goal-scoring abilities, has a history of moving clubs on free transfers, having done so when he joined Juventus from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019. During his time in Serie A, Rabiot became a crucial player for Juventus, scoring 13 goals in the last two seasons.

Under Slot’s management, Liverpool is expected to adopt a more possession-based style of play, making Rabiot’s skill set a perfect fit. His addition could significantly enhance the team’s midfield, particularly benefiting players like Curtis Jones and Alexis Mac Allister as they adapt to the new tactical approach. Rabiot’s experience and playing style could be key to Liverpool’s success as they aim to rebuild and compete at the highest level.
