Officially giving up Ugarte, Man Utd considers 2 Brazilian stars to OTF to replace Casemiro

Recent updates reveal that Manchester United is reconsidering their pursuit of Manuel Ugarte. Although it was initially reported that an agreement with the Uruguayan player had been reached, the club is now reportedly unwilling to meet Paris Saint-Germain’s asking price, which exceeds €60 million.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Manchester United is exploring other options. Sofyan Amrabat, who recently returned to Fiorentina after a loan spell at Old Trafford, is among the top targets. While securing Amrabat might be financially advantageous for United, his potential impact is questioned, as his performance last season did not indicate he would significantly enhance United’s midfield, especially given the uncertain futures of players like Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, and Scott McTominay.
In addition to Amrabat, journalist Ben Jacobs has reported that Manchester United is also considering Joao Gomes from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Gomes, who joined Wolves from Flamengo, has quickly become a promising Premier League player, particularly known for his ball recovery skills. He notably stood out in Wolves’ victory over Manchester United in the opening game of the 2023/24 season.
Another Brazilian on Manchester United’s radar is Andre Trindade from Fluminense. Despite having never played in Europe, Jacobs suggests that Andre could be available for under £30 million, making him a cost-effective option. The 23-year-old recently won the 2023 Copa Libertadores and has been compared to Casemiro, who he has mentioned as an influence on his playing style.
Interestingly, Fulham is also reportedly interested in Andre and is considering Scott McTominay as well. Should Manchester United opt to sell McTominay, who could bring in around £25 million, they may face strong competition from Fulham for Andre.
