The new football season is approaching, but Liverpool is already facing challenges with injuries impacting their plans. Jurgen Klopp’s previous season saw several key players sidelined, and now Jayden Danns, who had benefited from these absences, is dealing with his own setback.

Journalist David Lynch reported in his Substack column that Danns is expected to be out until October due to a back injury. This injury has prevented him from participating in Liverpool’s pre-season tour in the United States, which was crucial for him to showcase his talents and make a strong impression.

Liverpool had intended to loan Danns out for the 2024/25 season to provide him with valuable first-team experience. However, his injury has thwarted this plan. Missing the pre-season tour meant Danns missed a key opportunity to impress new head coach Arne Slot and secure a loan move for regular playing time.

At 18 years old, Danns made a significant impact during his Liverpool debut in February, stepping up during an injury crisis. He played a pivotal role in Liverpool’s Carabao Cup final victory and scored twice in an FA Cup match against Southampton. These performances suggested he was on track for more first-team opportunities.

Had Danns been fit, he would likely have had substantial playing time during the U.S. pre-season tour, where younger players were being given chances by the new coach. However, his injury has disrupted these plans.

As Danns focuses on recovering from his back injury, there is hope he will regain fitness and potentially secure a loan move in the winter transfer window. This would allow him to continue his development and showcase his potential, despite the unfortunate timing of his setback. For now, the emphasis is on his recovery and future opportunities once he is fully fit.
