Representatives from two Premier League giants, Liverpool and Manchester City, attended a recent match to observe Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz and Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala. Both players are not only highly regarded talents in Germany but are also considered among the top young prospects in Europe.

Liverpool had previously been seen as frontrunners in the race to secure both players’ signatures. However, City’s presence at the recent match indicates that the Reds may face stiff competition in their pursuit.

Musiala, aged 20, made the move to Bayern from Chelsea’s youth academy in 2019. Since then, he has amassed 150 appearances for the club across all competitions at the senior level, contributing 38 goals and 26 assists.

Wirtz, on the other hand, has been a key figure for Leverkusen since joining from fellow German side Koln in 2020. The midfielder has particularly impressed this season, notching five goals and providing nine assists to propel Xabi Alonso’s side to the top of the Bundesliga table after 22 matches.

The interest from both Liverpool and Manchester City underscores the players’ immense potential and the fierce competition to secure their talents. As the transfer window approaches, fans will be keenly watching to see which club can successfully negotiate deals for these highly sought-after prospects.
