Manchester City has been fined £2.09 million by the Premier League for 22 breaches related to kick-off delays, separate from the 115 charges for Financial Fair Play (FFP) violations they are currently facing. These infractions occurred over the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons and involved delays in both match start times and half-time restarts.

The Premier League issued a statement explaining that these rules ensure the professional organization of the competition and maintain the broadcast schedule for all 380 league matches. Manchester City accepted the sanction and apologized, reminding their players and management teams of their responsibilities.

This fine comes amid an ongoing legal battle between Manchester City and the Premier League over alleged breaches of financial regulations.
