Liverpool are actively seeking a high-caliber right winger to eventually replace Mohamed Salah, with reports indicating that Bryan Mbeumo is interested in making the switch to Anfield.
Mbeumo, a standout performer for Brentford in the Premier League, is ready to advance his career to the next level. According to L’Equipe, both Liverpool and Newcastle United are vying for the Cameroonian international’s signature, with Mbeumo expressing a desire to join a top-tier club. He stated:
“I spent five seasons at Brentford, at a club that helped me grow and turn a corner. But yes, I want to play in the biggest competitions, for the best clubs. It’s still exciting to see some of the big teams interested in me. We’ll see.”
Mbeumo’s consistent performance is evident from his involvement in every Premier League match during the 2022-23 season, contributing directly to 17 goals. Despite an ankle injury that sidelined him for three months in the 2023-24 season, he managed to start 22 games, scoring 9 goals and providing 6 assists under Thomas Frank’s management.
With his contract at Brentford running until 2026 and a reported weekly wage of £50,000 according to The Mail, Mbeumo represents a promising and financially viable option for Liverpool as they plan for the future beyond Salah.
