In a recent interview with The Players’ Tribune in February, the 26-year-old addressed criticisms suggesting he lacked professionalism or dedication during his time at Manchester United.

Although Rashford managed to score 30 goals and secure the Player of the Year award for United in the 2022-23 season, he has struggled to match his previous level of performance.

It’s still hard to grasp that he’s managed only eight goals for the Premier League team in a total of 42 appearances across all competitions. Additionally, receiving criticism for being spotted at a bar in Belfast just hours before reporting sick for first-team training added to the scrutiny he faced, on top of his on-field performance. Rashford provided the following statement to TPT: “Listen, I’m not a perfect guy. I’ll be the first to admit when I make a mistake and acknowledge the need for improvement. However, if you ever doubt my commitment to Manchester United, I’ll have to respond.”

As a man, I feel like my identity and beliefs are being questioned. This place has been my home since I was raised here. The club has been my sanctuary since childhood. My family even turned down significant financial opportunities for me to wear this badge.

Despite Rashford’s earlier rebuttal against those doubting his allegiance to United earlier this year, he continues to face criticism from a growing number of individuals. It appears he discussed his current perspective on Friday at 12:36 AM.

On Thursday afternoon, a user on the social network X posted the following message: “The way Marcus Rashford is being treated is absolutely disgusting.” It’s brutal. This isn’t fair.

Later on, the England forward tweeted the post, adding, “I appreciate your support.” There’s been months of mistreatment. That’s enough.

“I’m not out for revenge,” he told reporters. “You know what I mean? It’s just a game to me.”

The truth is, they’re not really writing about me at all. It seems like “Marcus Rashford” is the topic of their essay, if that’s the case.

“It can’t just be about me getting a parking ticket or moving out of town at 26,” the person said. “There must be something about my demeanor, my principles, my family, and my vision for the future of football that they’re referencing.”
