Fabrizio Romano has recently revealed Manchester United’s intentions for Mason Greenwood this summer, unveiling the destination set for the talented player.

The player, known for his left-footed skills, has netted six goals and contributed five assists in 23 LaLiga fixtures. He consistently plays the entire 90 minutes, and his significant contributions have been instrumental in propelling Getafe to a comfortable 13-point lead above the relegation zone.
Man Utd supporters naturally wonder whether Greenwood will return to Old Trafford once his loan stint concludes.
Certainly, with Manchester United anticipated to offload Antony, a significant spot in the forward line, particularly on the right wing, could become available. Supporting these speculations, the Daily Star recently indicated that Greenwood would not be included in United’s pre-season tour of the USA.
Such a move would strongly suggest that Greenwood’s future at Old Trafford is uncertain and could facilitate a transfer away from the club. Reports have emerged suggesting that Borussia Dortmund is considering a loan deal with an option to buy for Greenwood. This potential move could imply that Dortmund might not pursue a permanent signing for their current loanee from Manchester United, Jadon Sancho.
In light of these developments, respected transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has offered his perspective on Greenwood’s situation. Romano has addressed the notion that Greenwood’s fate has already been decided, indicating that a “final decision” is yet to be made.
This leaves the possibility open for Greenwood to potentially re-establish himself at Manchester United. With Sir Jim Ratcliffe ushering in a new era at the club, Greenwood might also have the opportunity for a fresh start back at Old Trafford.
However, Romano has suggested that at present, the most probable scenario is that Greenwood will be sold, provided suitable offers are received by the club. He stated, “Man Utd have not made a final decision yet about Mason Greenwood but [the] feeling is that [the] club will be ready to consider proposals in case of permanent transfer bids. Man Utd could cash in on Greenwood this summer, [they’re] waiting for INEOS verdict after internal talks.”
Regarding potential destinations for Greenwood if he is indeed made available for transfer, TEAMtalk has compiled a list of interested teams, including some of the biggest clubs globally.
