“The only players I hold in high regard are them. Their performances were hindered by the presence of numerous detrimental influences at the club, but, in my opinion, they stand as the top players at Manchester United currently.” – Gunnar Solskjaer identifies three standout players from his tenure at Man Utd, acknowledging that their excellence may have been obscured by the negative impact of other players at the club.

Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has offered insights into his time at the club, highlighting three players whom he considers ‘proper professionals.’
During his tenure, encompassing 127 Premier League matches, Solskjaer secured 59 victories, ultimately achieving a second-place finish in the 2020/21 season, trailing behind Manchester City. However, his managerial journey at the club concluded in November 2021 after a notable defeat to Watford.
Despite his departure, Solskjaer has yet to make a return to management, taking time to reflect on his experiences at Manchester United, where he had previously enjoyed success as a player.
Concerns about the professionalism of the current United squad have arisen, with disciplinary issues surfacing, including Jadon Sancho’s exclusion from the first team and Marcus Rashford’s controversial trip to Belfast.
In a recent interview, Solskjaer specifically highlighted players with whom he never encountered disciplinary problems, singling out Fred, Scott McTominay, and Nemanja Matic. He commended their commitment and reliability, underlining the significance of knowing what to expect from players as a manager.
Despite the challenging end to his tenure at Old Trafford, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reflects with pride on his achievements, pointing to the restoration of team morale, winning crucial matches, and laying the foundation for consistent performances against various opponents.
Solskjaer particularly emphasized the team’s impressive unbeaten away record of 29 games, highlighting the difficulties encountered and the triumphs achieved, including notable victories against formidable opponents like Manchester City. While recognizing the disappointment of falling short in winning the league, Solskjaer views securing second and third-place finishes with the squad at his disposal as a noteworthy accomplishment.
