Liverpool
This is the Sparta Prague players’ response upon discovering that Liverpool will be their upcoming opponent.

Today, Liverpool learned their opponents for the Europa League Round of 16, as they were paired with Czech First League team Sparta Praha. The upcoming matches are scheduled to kick off with the first leg in Prague on February 7th, followed by the return leg at Anfield on the 14th. This sets the scene for an exciting showdown between the two teams.
This fixture represents the second meeting between Liverpool and Sparta Praha in European competition. Their previous encounter took place during the 2010-11 season in the Europa League Round of 32. The first leg ended in a goalless draw in Prague, while Liverpool secured a 1-0 victory in the second leg, thanks to a crucial goal by Dirk Kuyt.
Sparta Praha currently occupies the top position in the Czech league standings, boasting a four-point lead over local rivals Slavia Praha. Their journey in the Europa League has been impressive, as they finished as runners-up in Group C behind Rangers and then overcame a first-leg deficit against Galatasaray to progress from the knockout playoff round.
However, the scheduling presents a challenge for Liverpool, as they are set to face a crucial league fixture against Manchester City on February 10th, just three days after the first leg against Sparta Praha. This is followed by an away match against Everton on the 17th, after the conclusion of the Round of 16 tie.
