Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid is currently under scrutiny following allegations of using derogatory language towards Mason Greenwood. The incident is said to have occurred after Real Madrid’s 2-0 victory over Getafe, prompting Getafe to file a complaint with La Liga regarding the reported altercation between the two players during the match. If found guilty, Bellingham could face a substantial suspension.

In adherence to standard procedures, La Liga incorporated Getafe’s complaint into its weekly report to the RFEF (Spanish FA), emphasizing incidents that merited additional scrutiny. As per a report from La Liga, quoted by ESPN, it noted: “Following the match, social media posts emerged alleging an incident where visiting player Jude Bellingham allegedly insulted local player Mason Greenwood in English. Several media outlets have reported on the incident, as indicated in the attached report.”

While video footage of the alleged incident circulated on social media during and after the match, it lacked accompanying audio. Subsequently, the RFEF has purportedly assigned a judge to conduct an inquiry into the complaint, with a decision anticipated within two weeks.

If the judge categorizes the alleged offense as ‘serious,’ Bellingham may be subject to a suspension of up to four games. However, if deemed a ‘grave’ verbal offense, the penalty could escalate to a substantial 10-game ban.

If such a penalty is enforced before Real Madrid’s upcoming matches, Bellingham might face exclusion until May, leading to his absence in crucial games, including the eagerly awaited El Clasico encounter against Barcelona on April 21.

However, Real Madrid’s participation in the Champions League might result in modifications to the schedule, potentially affecting Bellingham’s eligibility for forthcoming matches.

Currently, there has been no public statement from Bellingham, Greenwood, or their respective clubs addressing the alleged incident.
