Manchester United might wrap up the January transfer window without securing a new striker, but there is interest in potential targets like Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting from Bayern Munich, as per information obtained by 90min. Indications point to Erik ten Hag, the manager of United, expressing a desire to enhance the team’s goal-scoring capabilities.

Nonetheless, the club’s primary emphasis during the winter transfer window continues to be on outgoing transfers. Executing significant moves in the market might pose a challenge, especially without the departure of Antony Martial.

In November, Manchester United had contemplated the possibility of acquiring Timo Werner but did not actively pursue the deal. Subsequently, Werner opted for a loan move to Tottenham Hotspur from RB Leipzig, casting uncertainty over United’s pursuit despite their initial interest.

Insiders familiar with the matter have disclosed that Manchester United is contemplating Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting as a potential addition to the squad. Choupo-Moting’s contract with Bayern Munich is slated to conclude in the summer. Despite being a financially sensible option for United, there are currently no definite advancements in the discussions for a prospective deal.

Manchester United is keeping tabs on Serhou Guirassy, currently playing for Guinea in the Africa Cup of Nations. Despite the presence of a release clause, Guirassy seems inclined to stay at Stuttgart until the conclusion of the season.

Additionally, United is considering Jonathan David as a potential long-term addition. David’s contract with Lille is scheduled to expire in 2025, and there are speculations that Lille might entertain offers for him in the upcoming summer transfer window.
