The Dutch midfielder joined Frankfurt on loan during the January transfer window with an option for a permanent move in the summer. However, Van de Beek has only played three games for his new team and was left out of the Europa Conference League squad for the knockout stages.

Toppmoller expressed regret for the decision and explained that Van de Beek’s lack of recent playing time factored into the choice. Despite the omission, Toppmoller conveyed confidence in Van de Beek’s quality and expects him to contribute in the second half of the season.

Despite being left out of Eintracht Frankfurt’s Europa Conference League squad, Donny van de Beek has impressed manager Dino Toppmoller with his response.

The Dutch midfielder scored a goal and provided two assists in a recent behind-closed-doors friendly, showcasing his readiness to face the challenge. This positive reaction has strengthened Toppmoller’s confidence in Van de Beek, who is on his second loan spell after joining Manchester United from Ajax in 2020.

Having previously spent time at Everton during the 2021/22 season, Van de Beek, with 62 appearances for the Red Devils, aims to rejuvenate his career in Germany.
