Next Chelsea manager: Zinedine Zidane makes a significant decision about his future following links to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea news indicates that Zinedine Zidane appears poised to make a comeback to coaching after a hiatus of two years.
After being linked to the Chelsea managerial role, reports suggest that Zinedine Zidane, the former Real Madrid manager, has reached a decision about his future. Zidane was reportedly considered as one of the potential candidates on Todd Boehly’s list to replace Graham Potter, who was dismissed earlier this month. The Frenchman has been without a coaching position since his departure from Real Madrid in 2021.
Yet, the likelihood of the 50-year-old securing the role as the next permanent manager at Stamford Bridge has diminished, particularly with Mauricio Pochettino emerging as the leading candidate following Julian Nagelsmann’s withdrawal from contention.
Zidane, who achieved remarkable success with three Champions League triumphs and two La Liga titles during his tenure in Spain over four and a half years, solidifying his status as one of the premier managers in football. Initially waiting for the France national team job to open up after the World Cup, Zidane found himself in a state of uncertainty following Didier Deschamps’ contract extension.
Recent reports suggest that Zidane has now made a decision on his next career move after being out of the managerial scene for almost two years. According to French outlet RMC Sport, the former midfielder is eager to make a return to management in the summer, with a potential move to Juventus being considered.
During his playing career, Zidane had a significant impact at Juventus, amassing 212 appearances and securing two Serie A titles, the Supercoppa Italiana, and reaching two Champions League finals.
Recent reports suggest that Zidane is leaning towards a long-term project in his managerial endeavors, and Juventus appears to be an appealing option. The club’s successful appeal against a points deduction related to illicit transfer activity enhances their attractiveness. However, it’s noted that Juventus might need to pay £17.85 million to terminate the contract of their current manager, Massimiliano Allegri, whose current deal extends until 2025.
