BREAKING NEWS: Saudi Arabian clubs are reportedly preparing to submit a substantial and extravagant bid to Liverpool after an extraordinary offer of over $300 million was presented to Manchester City. The offer is aimed at acquiring the 29-year-old playmaker, Jurgen Klopp, in the upcoming January summer transfer window.

Paul Merson strongly believes that Liverpool is still facing the risk of losing Mohamed Salah to the Saudi Pro League this month, despite the club turning down a substantial £150 million bid from Al Ittihad.
Salah, the talented Egyptian forward, has been a subject of interest from the Middle East, with a recent verbal offer made. However, Liverpool swiftly rejected the offer, asserting that Salah is not available for sale.
The proposed offer included £100 million upfront, with an additional £50 million in add-ons. Merson, speaking on Sky Sports, emphasized the dilemma Liverpool is confronted with regarding the potential departure of Salah. He recognized Salah’s exceptional talent and questioned whether selling him for £150 million would result in acquiring a player superior to Salah.
Merson suggested that an offer surpassing £200 million could be too tempting to refuse for a 31-year-old player. He expressed concerns about Liverpool’s prospects without Salah, hinting at a potential struggle to secure a top-four spot in the Premier League if Salah departs.
Although the offer may seem enticing given Salah’s age, Liverpool remains steadfast in resisting any attempts to take away a player who has been prolific, scoring 138 goals in 221 appearances over six seasons.
Merson stressed the difficulty Liverpool would face in securing a replacement of Salah’s caliber within the limited time remaining in the transfer window. He underscored the significance of keeping manager Jurgen Klopp satisfied and suggested that any decision to sell Salah might impact Klopp’s morale.
Additionally, Merson showed understanding for Liverpool’s predicament, particularly the potential challenges associated with rebuilding the team if Salah departs for the substantial sum offered.
In summary, Merson conveyed sympathy for Liverpool and Klopp, stating that while the offer is significant, the aftermath of Salah’s departure would demand a comprehensive overhaul and a substantial period for rebuilding.
