Chelsea
Chelsea is contemplating a last-minute transfer for an unexpected standout player from Newcastle’s first team.

Chelsea is anticipated to seek a replacement striker in the event that Armando Broja departs before the upcoming January transfer deadline. Despite a substantial expenditure exceeding £1 billion in the last three transfer windows, Chelsea has yet to resolve its scoring deficiencies. With Broja, aged 22, strongly linked to a potential move to West Ham, the goal-scoring concerns may exacerbate.
While Nicolas Jackson joined from Villarreal in the summer, the 22-year-old is still considered a prospect and cannot be relied upon to consistently deliver goals. As a result, Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly targeting a new striker to spearhead Chelsea’s attack. Although Napoli’s Victor Osimhen continues to be associated with a move to Stamford Bridge, his future is not expected to be determined until at least the summer.
Given Osimhen’s uncertain situation and other factors, Chelsea is compelled to explore a temporary solution to address their immediate striker needs.
As per the latest update from Football Transfers, an unexpected contender has surfaced as a potential addition to Pochettino’s initiative. Chelsea’s recruitment team is said to hold admiration for Callum Wilson, the Newcastle striker, who attracted interest from Atletico Madrid earlier this week.
Priced at a modest £18 million according to Newcastle’s valuation, the seasoned Callum Wilson, with only 18 months remaining on his contract, presents a financially feasible choice for Chelsea, who aim to adhere to the stringent guidelines of Financial Fair Play.
If Chelsea decides to proceed with an official offer, they are rumored to be ready to meet the asking price set by their competitors. Since his transfer from Bournemouth to the Magpies four years ago, Wilson, who has earned nine caps for England, has accumulated a record of 46 goals and 11 assists in 102 appearances across all competitions.
