“He performs with a robust style reminiscent of a ‘Butcher,’ and he could serve as a significant successor to Raphael Varane, who is expected to depart the club at the end of the season.” This comes as good news for Manchester United, as the £68 million target is reportedly experiencing a strained relationship with his current coach and is said to have a strong desire to join Manchester United.

Manchester United’s pursuit of Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt has received a significant boost, as reported. The Dutch international, who joined Bayern in 2022 after his stint with Juventus, has reportedly encountered issues with Thomas Tuchel, his current manager.

With United looking to strengthen their defense in the upcoming transfer window, this development raises the chances of De Ligt considering a permanent transfer away from the Allianz Arena. However, securing Champions League qualification may play a crucial role in United’s pursuit of the 24-year-old center-back.

Reportedly, in September, Matthijs de Ligt left the stadium abruptly without communicating with anyone after Bayern achieved a 4-3 victory over Manchester United in the Champions League group stage.

Despite being a crucial part of Thomas Tuchel’s starting lineup when fit, De Ligt recently returned from an injury that sidelined him for over a month. Both De Ligt and fellow center-back Dayot Upamecano were absent from training during Bayern’s winter training camp due to ongoing injury concerns. T

his situation may open up an opportunity for Eric Dier, who recently joined Bayern on loan from Tottenham, to make an unexpected start for the club in their upcoming Bundesliga match against Werder Bremen.
