Real Madrid is considering acquiring Victor Osimhen.

Real Madrid officials believe that Victor Osimhen should be signed this summer instead of Kylian Mbappe.

The forward for Paris Saint-Germain, Kylian Mbappe, has long been a target for Real Madrid. His current deal expires at the end of the current campaign. Even if Mbappe hasn’t given a clear indication about his future, the Spanish team is able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with him.

Mbappe made a humiliating U-turn in 2022, abandoning his plans to transfer to Spain in favor of signing a new contract at PSG, when Real Madrid attempted and failed to recruit him to the team.

This week, Mbappe’s pleasure at the Parc des Princes was mentioned by PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who also alluded to the possibility of Mbappe signing another contract extension in Paris.

In an effort to prevent a repeat of this circumstance, Real Madrid has apparently given Mbappe till the middle of January to make a choice.

Football Transfers, however, state that top Real Madrid officials think Victor Osimhen of Napoli would be a “better bet” for the team.

Osimhen, who is a free agent with a deal worth approximately £112 million, has made a name for himself at Napoli as one of the top forwards in Europe.

As Serie A’s top scorer with 26 league goals the previous season, the 24-year-old led Napoli to their first Scudetto in thirty-three years.

Osimhen is an out-and-out center-forward, and some of “the more experienced figures in the Real Madrid boardroom” feel his profile fits Carlo Ancelotti’s team better.

Osimhen is now training with the Nigerian national squad in anticipation of this weekend’s Africa Cup of Nations.
