Real Madrid Finalizes Extraordinary Agreement, Planning to Cover Just Half of Erling Haaland’s Release Clause Amid Intense Negotiations with Manchester City.

SUMMARY:
In the event of failing to secure Kylian Mbappé, Real Madrid is reportedly exploring the option of signing Erling Haaland, with indications suggesting they would only need to pay half of his Manchester City release clause.

Haaland is considered a potential successor for Karim Benzema at Real Madrid, given his status as one of the world’s top strikers. Despite ongoing pursuit of Mbappé, Real Madrid is eyeing Haaland as a viable alternative.

Real Madrid may turn to Erling Haaland if their pursuit of Kylian Mbappé falls through, with reports indicating that they could secure the Manchester City striker for only half of his release clause.

Haaland, having established himself as one of the premier strikers globally, is seen as a potential successor to Karim Benzema at Real Madrid.

Although Real Madrid continues to pursue Mbappé, aiming to make him their highest-paid player if he leaves Paris Saint-Germain, there are indications that the Frenchman is not entirely pleased with Madrid’s efforts, possibly considering a transfer to the Premier League.

Mbappé’s contract at Parc des Princes is set to expire in the summer, allowing him to engage in discussions with potential suitors since the beginning of the year. However, with challenges in finalizing a deal for Mbappé, Real Madrid may shift their focus to Haaland, particularly due to a clause in his contract that extends until the summer of 2027.

Erling Haaland can be acquired for half of his release clause.

Real Madrid is prepared to spend nearly €100 million on the Norwegian forward.

With the potential Mbappé deal now uncertain, Los Blancos might explore the market for a replacement, and Haaland stands out as a proven goal-scorer, making him an excellent choice.

The enigmatic Norwegian has the capability to skillfully fill the void left by Karim Benzema. Since his £51 million transfer from Borussia Dortmund, he has netted 71 goals and provided 14 assists in 75 games.

The current attack for the perennial Champions League winners is led by former Newcastle United player Joselu or temporary options in wingers Vinícius Jr. and Rodrygo.

Fortunately for Carlo Ancelotti and his team, there is an opportunity to activate Haaland’s release clause.

According to AS (via the Mail), the recognized value of that clause is approximately €200 million (£172 million), but this amount is applicable only to teams in the English Premier League; teams from other leagues can secure his signing for about half of that.

Haaland, widely considered the current best football player globally, is aware that if he chooses to remain at the Etihad Stadium beyond the January transfer window and into the summer of 2024—assuming Mbappé stays with the team—they will always welcome him to become a key member.
