January might become a pivotal month in the career of Chelsea’s current captain, Conor Gallagher, following the acknowledgment by first-team manager Mauricio Pochettino of engaging in transfer discussions.

Throughout the 2023/24 season, Conor Gallagher has arguably stood out as the best player for the Blues. Losing the attacking midfielder at a time when the club is aiming for progress would be a significant concern for Pochettino.

Tottenham has been previously linked with an interest in signing Gallagher if he becomes available, as reported by Sky Sports. Pochettino’s comments on the current situation were also conveyed by the outlet.

Pochettino stated, “We talked about many, many subjects because it’s normal. But it’s a very natural situation that, of course, we talk in a very natural way. If you want to ask me if I was talking with Conor about this situation, yes.

Like all the players when some rumor happens, always it’s good to have a good conversation with the player, like Ian Maatsen, or different players like this, Andrey Santos.

I think always it’s important for us, the coaches, to have very clear and very direct, honest conversations with the players. It’s healthy to have these types of relationships. We were talking all different subjects, and if we have something to communicate, then we will.”

Chelsea’s supporters are probably not pleased with the prospect of losing another prominent figure due to Financial Fair Play complications arising from owner Todd Boehly’s involvement in past transfer markets.

However, the American owner seems unconcerned about fan sentiments as he aims to rectify the club’s financial balance.
