Reports indicate that Liverpool is keen on signing Porto midfielder Alan Varela, who is also drawing interest from Barcelona. Barcelona, dealing with the departure of Sergio Busquets and financial constraints, has considered alternatives like Oriol Romeu, Ilkay Gundogan, Andreas Christensen, and Frenkie de Jong.

 

 

Despite identifying Martin Zubimendi, Joshua Kimmich, Bruno Guimaraes, and Amadou Onana as targets, financial limitations may impede their pursuit. Varela, a promising Argentine U-23 international, has impressed at Porto and emerged as a viable option for Barcelona.

 

 

However, Liverpool’s reported €70 million offer for the former Boca Juniors player could complicate Barcelona’s plans, as they may struggle to match such a bid according to El Nacional.
