Spanish club Real Madrid officials plan to finalize a swap deal with Italian club AC Milan during the current summer transfer period of 2024, aiming to bolster the Merengue team. Real Madrid is looking to overhaul the squad following the retirement of German midfielder Toni Kroos, and the departures of Nacho and Joselu, with more players potentially leaving.

According to the Spanish newspaper “Marca,” Real Madrid’s management is interested in acquiring Milan left-back Theo Hernandez during the current summer transfer window. The newspaper added that Milan is keen to bring back Brahim Diaz in a swap deal. Diaz spent three consecutive seasons on loan from Real Madrid to Milan, from 2020 to 2023.

The report further mentioned that Moroccan Brahim Diaz was instrumental in helping Milan win the Italian League title in the 2021-2022 season and played a key role in their qualification for the Champions League semi-finals in 2023. Notably, Real Madrid recently secured their 15th Champions League title by defeating German club Borussia Dortmund 2-0.
