Manchester United

As of right now, he has informed me that he would prefer to join Manchester United rather than Paris Saint-Germain. The fact that Kobbie Mainoo’s international teammate, who is worth £70 million, wants to quit his club this summer because he no longer enjoys playing for his current club has been revealed by Mainoo.

Mainoo had a breakout season at United, becoming a key player for manager Erik ten Hag. The 19-year-old scored the winning goal in the FA Cup final against Manchester City, securing United’s position in the Europa League next season.

MEN Sport reports that United has placed all but four players on the transfer list this summer. Mainoo is one of the four, alongside Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund, and Alejandro Garnacho.

Mainoo is seen as a major part of United’s future. Reports suggest that United is looking to recruit Benfica star Joao Neves. According to Record, United had a £51 million bid for Neves rejected this week. Benfica values Neves closer to €100 million (£85 million) and he has a €120 million (£102 million) release clause.

Mainoo spoke with MUTV in April about his early days with the United first team. His comments may provide insight into his preferences for United’s transfer activity this summer, particularly regarding the acquisition of a new midfielder.

When asked to choose his ideal United midfield partner, Mainoo said Paul Scholes. He explained why he admired Scholes but acknowledged the potential lack of defensive balance.

“I’d suggest Paul Scholes,” Mainoo told MUTV in April. “Although there may not be much defense between the two of us. But yes, Scholes. Scholes – undoubtedly. Because of everything. His passing, mobility, and finishing technique. His intellect. Yes, he was an excellent player.”
