“Wow, he’s a midfield maestro. Comparable to legends such as Iniesta, Xavi, Kaka, Thiago, and Paul Scholes. This footage highlights his exceptional skills, making a strong case for his inclusion in England’s Euro 2024 squad.”

Kobbie Mainoo’s standout moments against Luton Town underscore why he deserves a spot in England’s Euro 2024 squad this summer. Mainoo has been consistently impressive in his breakthrough season for United, solidifying his position as a key player under the management of Erik ten Hag.

The 18-year-old once again demonstrated remarkable maturity in his performance, particularly in the central midfield role. His ability to orchestrate United’s play showcased an impressive level of composure that goes well beyond his years.

In contrast, Mainoo outshone his midfield partner Casemiro, who narrowly escaped a red card after a poorly timed challenge on Ross Barkley while already on a yellow card. Casemiro had to be substituted at halftime to avoid dismissal, while Mainoo continued to perform at an exceptionally high standard throughout the entire 90 minutes.

Although Mainoo received a caution in the second half, video replays revealed that he had cleanly won the ball. Despite being a relatively new addition to the team with only 11 starts to his name, Mainoo appears to be the real deal and looks poised for the international stage.

Gareth Southgate witnessed Mainoo’s performance firsthand at Villa Park last week, and there is a growing consensus among fans and pundits alike that he should be fast-tracked into the England squad.

Renowned figures in football, including former Arsenal and England striker Ian Wright, are joining the chorus of praise for Kobbie Mainoo. Ian Wright expressed his admiration for Mainoo’s maturity in challenging situations, highlighting a level of composure not seen in an England player for quite some time. Gary Lineker echoed this sentiment, describing Mainoo as a fabulous young player.

While Mainoo has represented England at various youth levels, his eligibility to play for Ghana through his parents adds an interesting dimension. Despite not making a decision about his international future, there is a growing sentiment that including Mainoo in the England squad would be in the team’s best interest.
