A young Manchester United fan approached Dave Brailsford, the INEOS director of sport, to inquire about the possibility of signing Kylian Mbappe. Reports emerged indicating that Mbappe had made a decision about leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the 2023/24 season.
In a video, the fan asked Brailsford, “Can we buy Mbappe?” Brailsford responded with a smile, suggesting that Mbappe seems inclined to join Real Madrid.
Mbappe’s future has been a subject of intense speculation, and recent reports linked Liverpool as a potential destination. However, The Independent revealed that Liverpool chose not to make an offer due to concerns over the player’s salary exceeding their wage structure. In 2022, Mbappe rejected a move to Madrid and signed a new contract with PSG.
Last summer, he reportedly turned down a substantial bid of £259 million from Saudi Professional League club Al Hilal.
It seems that Real Madrid is now in a prime position to secure Mbappe’s signature. According to the Daily Mail, Los Blancos are ready to offer Mbappe the highest salary at the club, along with a substantial signing-on bonus.
If the transfer to Madrid goes through, Mbappe is anticipated to take over the number 10 shirt from Luka Modric, who is poised to leave the club in the summer.
