Real Madrid is said to be considering a move for two prominent players from Manchester United in case their efforts to sign Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland prove unsuccessful. Known for their pursuit of top-tier talent, even at the expense of Manchester United, Real Madrid has a history of acquiring stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham from Sir Alex Ferguson’s squad.

As reported by DefensaCentral, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez and other senior figures have instructed chief scout Juni Calafat to monitor Rasmus Højlund closely. The La Liga club sees him as a reliable ‘Plan B’ should they be unable to secure the signings of Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland. Additionally, Fichajes notes that Real Madrid is also keeping a close watch on Alejandro Garnacho, with Calafat leading this particular pursuit.

Madrid is reportedly keen on bolstering their attacking lineup with the addition of the 19-year-old Garnacho. Notably, Garnacho has prior experience in Spain, having played in Atletico Madrid’s youth academy before joining Manchester United in 2020. Under the guidance of Erik ten Hag, Garnacho and Højlund have started developing a promising partnership. However, it would require a substantial financial investment to lure either player away from Old Trafford, let alone both.
