Mykahilo Mudryk, 23, is facing challenges in making a significant impact while playing for Chelsea. The left-winger has managed to score four goals in 24 appearances for the Blues this season but is encountering difficulty securing a consistent place in Mauricio Pochettino’s starting lineup. Notably, Bayern Munich, a prominent club in the Champions League and Bundesliga, showed interest in Mudryk last month.

The Athletic has clarified that Bayern Munich found themselves in a challenging situation due to a significant knee injury suffered by their star winger, Kingsley Coman. It is reported that the German club explored potential loan options in the transfer market to address the absence created by Coman’s injury.

According to the report, Bayern Munich briefly considered Chelsea’s Mudryk as an option. However, the Bundesliga champions ultimately opted to sign Bryan Zaragoza on loan from Grana to address the gap left by Kingsley Coman’s injury. If Mudryk had joined Munich, it would have been a remarkable move for the Ukrainian international. Instead, he must now focus on finding consistency and form for Chelsea in the second half of the season.

Despite possessing impressive individual attributes, Mudryk is still considered raw, and meeting the expectations of Chelsea supporters remains a priority. Pat Nevin, speaking on the London Is Blue podcast last month, emphasized the need for Chelsea to stick with Mudryk, drawing parallels with the development paths of past players like De Bruyne and Salah.
